Dargestellt sind neben Winchester (10 Tafeln), Eton (10 T.) und Westminster (4 T.) auch Charterhouse School (5 T.), St. Pauls's School (2 T.), Merchant Taylors' School (2 T.), Harrow (5 T.), Rugby School (5 T.) und Christ's Hospital (5 T.).
EINBAND: Späterer Kalblederband mit etw. Rückenvergoldung, floraler goldgeprägter Deckelbordüre, Steh- und Innenkantenvergoldung und Goldschnitt. 35 : 29 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 48 kolorierten Aquatinta- und Kupfertafeln. - KOLLATION: VI S., 1 Bl. Arrangement of plates , 56, 72, 27, 32, 34, 22, 40, 34, 43 S. - ZUSTAND: Tafeln mit Abklatsch, gegen Ende etw. stockfleckig, insgesamt gut erhaltenes, breitrandiges Exemplar. Rücken verfärbt, Kanten und Deckel gering berieben. - PROVENIENZ: Gestochenes Wappenexlibris Arthur Mountjoy Dunne und Exlibris William Delafield.

Complete copy of the first edition, ordinary paper copy. With 48 colored aquatint and engr. plates. Later calf with gilt decoration on spine and boards and gilt edges. - Illustrations with offsetting, last leaves somewhat foxed, but overall well-preserved copy with wide margins. Spine discolored, edges and boards only slightly rubbed. - Engr. armorial bookplate Arthur Mountjoy Dunne and bookplate William Delafield.
