Berühmte Biographie John Myttons mit den prächtig kolorierten Aquatinten nach Henry Alken und T. J. Rawlins. In einem zum Inhalt passenden Handeinband der traditionsreichen englischen Buchbinderwerkstatt Bayntun.
Späte Auflage der 1835 erstmals erschienenen Biographie. Mit Jagd-, Fahr- und Reitdarstellungen in schönem Kolorit. Die Buchbinderei Bayntun wurde 1894 von George Bayntun (1873-1940) gegründet. Später wurde sie zu Bayntun-Riviere erweitert und ist heute die letzte der großen viktorianischen Buchbindereien im Familienbesitz.
EINBAND: Roter Maroquin (sign. Bayntun Riviere, Barth England) mit ornamentaler Goldprägung, VDeckel mit intarsiertem, mehrfarbigem Leder mit einem Hunde-Jagdmotiv sowie Ganzgoldschnitt, in rotem Leinenschuber. 26 : 17 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit gestochenem Titel mit Vignette und 20 kolor. Aquatinta-Tafeln. - KOLLATION: 1 Bl., XXI, 238 S., 1 Bl. - ZUSTAND: Vereinz. kl. Stockflecken, sonst schönes Exemplar.

A famous biography of John Mytton, featuring lavishly colored aquatints after Henry Alken and T. J. Rawlins. Hand-bound to match the contents, this volume comes from the long-established English bookbinding workshop Bayntun. A late edition of the biography first published in 1835. With engr. title with vignette and 20 colored aquatint plates. Red morocco (signed Bayntun Riviere, Barth, England) with ornamental gilt decoration and gilt edges, front cover is inlaid with multicolored leather featuring a hunting dog motif, in red cloth slipcase. 26 : 17 cm. - Here and there few foxing, otherwise fine copy.
