Kupfern im Text sowie zahlr. figürl. Holzschnitt-Initialen und Musiknoten in Rot und Schwarz. Kempten, Koesel 1823. Prachtvoller roter Chagrinlederband mit reichen goldgepr. Ungewöhnlich schönes und prachtvoll eingebundenes Allgäuer Missale. - Durchgehend in Rot und Schwarz gedruckt, zumeist zweispaltig, jede Seite mit ornamentaler Holzschnitt-Einfassung. - Angeb.: Missae propriae imperialis ecclesiae, et dioecesis Bambergensis. Bamberg, Gertner 1779. 23 S. - Einbd. und Innenkanten stellenw. gerinfüg. fleckig und berieben, 1 flieg. Vorsatz mit Knickspur, Griffregister z. Tl. eingerissen. Insgesamt ausgesprochen dekoratives, sauberes und wohl erhaltenes Exemplar in einem künstlerisch wie handwerklich hervorragenden Lederband der Zeit.

Remarkably nice and magnificently bound Allgäu missal. With engr. title vignette, 1 copperplate (with 3 coppers, printed on both sides) and 10 fullpage coppers in the text as well as numerous figurative woodcut initials and music notes in red and black. Splendid red chagrin binding with rich gilt tooling on boards and spine, gilt inside borders and gilt edges as well as green silk endpapers with gilt-tooled border and leather thumb index. - Binding and edges slightly stained in places and rubbed, 1 flying endpaper with creasemark, thumb index partly torn. All in all particularly decorative, clean and well-preserved copy in a magnificent contemp. binding.
