Petrarca, F., Il Petrarcha.Venedig, Alessandro Paganini 1515. Zeitgenöss. Pergament. 16mo. (10 : 5 cm). 162 (st. 163) röm. num. Bll.
Fiske/Fowler S. 90. - "The Paganini type, as Marsand says, is neither roman, cursive, nor gothic, but a blend of the last two" (Fiske/F.).
Extremely rare Petrarca edition in a very small size (10 : 5 cm), printed by Alessandro Paganini in 1515. Not in Adams, BM STC, Speck coll., ABPC, JAP etc. Only 1 copy we could trace (Bibl. civica Padova). Bound in contemp. vellum. - Lacking fol. 41 (F1) and the last blank (X4). The mentioned copy in Padova contains a separate quire chi (8 leaves) at end, however this quire is not listed in the index of quires in the colophon; also the copy described by Fiske/Fowler without such a quire. - Partly minor foxing, 6 leaves with mended marginal defects, lateral margin of title strengthened.
