Erste Ausgabe des bedeutenden expressionistischen Almanachs, eine der großen Programmschriften in der Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts. - 1 von 50 num. Exemplaren der ungemein seltenen Luxusausgabe. - " .. one of the most important German books of modern art. In 1911 Kandinsky and Marc edited this volume, which was first published in 1912 .. It also contains contributions by other artists in various fields, including drawings and an article on music by Arnold Schönberg. The Blaue Reiter group took its name from this publication by two of its founders." (Eleanor Garvey) - Exemplar mit den zwei signierten Farbholzschnitten von Wassily Kandinsky ("Bogenschütze", Roethel 79 II) und Franz Marc ("Fabeltier", Lankheit 826/3), letzterer auf dünnem Japan und in kraftigem Schablonenkolorit; beide Graphiken in guten Abzügen, sauber und farbfrisch. - Einbd. mit leichten Kratzspuren und vorwieg. an den Kanten berieben, Rücken deutl. verblichen. Kandinsky and Franz Marc and 4 colored plates (3 mounted) as well as three musical editions and numerous illustrations in the text. Dark blue smoothed orig. calfskin binding with gilt-tooled cover vignette and top edge gilt. 29 : 21.5 cm. - Binding with slight scratches and rubbed spots, predominantly affecting edges, spine clearly faded.
