Exemplaren der interessanten und schönen Monographie über Duchamp anlässlich der gleichnamigen Ausstellung, im Druckvermerk vom Künstler signiert und mit der in einer separaten Leinenmappe beigegebenen Fotografie Piston de courant d’air (auch Draft Pistons, Format: 29,8 : 23,8 cm), ebenfalls von Duchamp signiert und numeriert. - Schwarz beschreibt die Entstehungsgeschichte des Multiples nach Duchamp wie folgt: "The photos for the Draft Pistons were taken by Duchamp in 1914. A square piece of gauze was hung before an open window and, as the air penetrated the room, 'the cloth was accepted and rejected by the draft.' .. The result was a series of chance images of the deformations of the square, which were recorded photographically .." (aus dem Text). Die entstandenen Fotos dienten Duchamp als Grundlage für die 3 Draft Pistons , Teil seines aufwendigen Glaskunstwerks Large Glass, an dem er von 1915 bis 1923 arbeitete. - Zelluloid mit kl. Knickspur am unteren linken Rand. Einbände vereinzelt berieben u. etw. fleckig, 1 Schuberkante gelöst. Insgesamt gutes Exemplar der interessanten Monografie, die nur selten vollständig mit dem Multiple und dem Orig.-Schuber zu finden ist.

Duchamp, some in colors. Silver-tooled black orig. calf and black orig. cloth, in illustrated orig. slipcase. 34.5 : 24. 5 cm. - Celluloid with small creasemark in lower left margin. Bindings rubbed in places and somewhat stained, 1 edge of slipcae loose. All in all fine copy of the interesting monography, rarely found in the completeness with the multiple and the orig. slipcase.
