"The Aureola is the work elsewhere attributed to Lupus de Oliveto (or Olmeto) with title Regula monachorum ex Epistolis Hieronymi excerpta (B. Lambert, Bibliotheca Hieronymiana manuscripta, IIIb (Steenbrugis, 1970) no. 552" (ISTC).
EINBAND: Zeitgenössischer Holzdeckelband mit Messingschließe. 8vo. 19 : 13 cm. - KOLLATION: 175 nn. Bll. Rom. Type, 25 Zeilen. - ZUSTAND: Rücken und Vorsätze stilgerecht erneuert. Ecken und tls. Kanten mit Wurmspuren, bewegl. Schließenteil entfernt. - PROVENIENZ: Kolophon mit Eintragung des zeitgenössischen Besitzers (und Rubrikators?) in roter Tinte: "Hoc opusculum est Antonij de la crotta".

Rare Milanese edition of the rulebook for monks. Fine and clean print, rubricated in yellow, red and blue. Colophon with contemporary ownership inscription in red. Contemp. half calf over wooden boards with brass clasp. - Spine and endpapers skilfully renewed. Corners and partly edges with wormtraces, movable part of the clasp removed.(R)
